About Me

Adam L. Perkins is a seasoned former sworn law enforcement officer with experience serving in Forsyth and Edgecombe Counties in North Carolina. As an honorably discharged military veteran, his discipline and dedication have been the foundation of his law enforcement and academic pursuits. Currently, Perkins brings his wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to the Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy in Fredericksburg, Virginia, as a DEI and Racial Profiling Instructor. His role at RRCJA is pivotal in shaping the future of law enforcement through the lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion—ensuring that the next generation of officers is well-equipped to serve with fairness and integrity.

In his groundbreaking book, "Traffic Stops and Commentary on Racial Profiling," Perkins marries his rigorous academic research with practical field experience to challenge conventional wisdom and introduce new paradigms in law enforcement. His work is a clarion call for an evolved approach to policing, one that fosters a deep sense of community trust and reflects our shared values of justice and respect for all.
